Put Color Inside of My World

I always love a good challenge!! This one was a first for me. Usually I create a digital painting based on an image that I can draw shades and depth from. I use the colors in the image to select my shade for my digital brush. When I was presented with this request using a black and white image, I’ll admit I was nervous. I really dive into my art, the more pictures for reference the better. I was provided a second picture showing actual skin tones. This allowed me to visualize the color I wanted and what to aim for.

As always, when I first show someone a snippet of what a piece will look like, I am sooooo nervous. I mean, what if they HATE it?! Good news is with digital art, you can sometimes move backwards or even start again. It means the world to me when my work hits them in the feels and steals their heart.
