Why I Believe In My Paintings
There is something refreshing and unique about an original painting. I believe that a tangible piece of art is lost in translation when it is copied or printed, or simply created on a computer. Technology can create what is impossible for artists’ hands to create. But there is still nothing like a handmade piece of art. Computer made versus handmade artwork is like eating out versus having a home cooked meal. Eating out is great, but there is something that makes your heart heal and feel at home with your mothers cooking. To me, the hand held, slightly imperfect brush strokes are irreplaceable. It reflects reality, and how we can make something beautiful of our lives with the materials handed to us.
